Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
We will be conducting an emergency communications drill at approximately 2:00
p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012. A text and voice message will be sent to the
Yale ALERT cell phone number you provided through the Yale Portal (staff and
faculty) or WebSIS (students), and a voice message will be sent to your home
phone. A message will also be sent to your Yale email account. We will not be
calling office phones. You do not need to do anything in response to these
We will also be testing interior fire alarm speakers, the exterior blue phone
speakers, the emergency management
website, and the emergency management facebook and twitter sites.
Yale ALERT and other communications systems are how the University would
notify the campus community in the event of an emergency. This system is ONLY
for campus emergencies and not for routine announcements.
We appreciate your patience and hope that the brief testing is not unduly
disruptive. If you have questions about Yale ALERT or other emergency
communications tools, please visit http://emergency.yale.edu.
