I write to let you know that an attempted robbery occurred this afternoon in the area of 409 Prospect Street at approximately 3:20 (Click here to view the incident's location). A Graduate student was approached by a male, in his late teens, who attempted to rob the victim of his backpack. No weapon was displayed, no injuries were reported and the Yale Police are investigating.
If you have any information about this incident or should observe any suspicious activity, please call the Yale Police at 203-432-4400 or text your anonymous tip to 67283, begin the stream with yaletip.
As a general reminder, please be aware of your surroundings at all times, walk with others when possible, avoid displaying valuables, note the location of emergency Blue Phones, and make use of security services, including shuttle services and door-to-door rides after dark, by calling 203-432-9255. The Yale Police also provide services and information for victims of crimes, which you may access by calling 203-432-4400.
